This beautifully proportioned 1/2 acre lies opposite the little Mount Tamborine shopping centre with its convenience store. Legally, it has 2-street frontage with the longer frontage facing into dense band of original rainforest vegetation which covers the unmade portion of St. Bernard Street where there is a small walking track mainly used by school kids.

Nobody can guarantee that at some future time this barrier of trees will not be removed to create a road, but it is highly unlikely that it will be made in our lifetime. If you look at the satellite version of the Google map, you will see that a creek flows right through the middle of that section of unmade road, making it a very expensive exercise to provide a bridge which explains why it has never been made so far. And there seems to be no compelling reason to convince the Scenic Rim Shire Council to build an expensive bit of road that is really not needed even decades into the future.

This block actually has an interesting history. It 1988 the Beaudesert Shire Council gave approval for the development of a service station on this site. However, somewhere between now and then, that approval was allowed to lapse. We feel it would be at least difficult to revive that approval at this stage as the EPA is a great deal more involved now and would almost certainly object to such an approval due to the possibility of contamination of that creek - known as Guanaba Creek.

However, it does suggest that the current Council would probably look favourably on some sort of usage that will extend beyond it being just a magically private and beautiful home site. Approval for a B&B seems quite likely and even more commercially oriented development could possibly find favour. The presence of a capped bore (& we can’t give you any guidance on flow) suggests that there probably is a decent supply of underground water here to support any such venture. All we know is that all bores in this locality seem to be successful.

As the photos show clearly, this is a superb block of land enhanced by the presence of many huge native trees and wide expanses of cleared grass just waiting for a beautiful home here. With the potential for more income producing usage, it really offers a unique lifestyle with probable income producing options.
