This big, low set American country style home with feature exterior rock wall was actually built by an American back in 1974. It has only ever had 2 owners and the second owners have lived there through their entire retirement years spanning over 3 decades. With this brief history, it is easy to understand why this lovely home now registers the passing of the years and is ready for a bit of updating and redecorating. It is on sale to finalise the estate which is controlled by The Public Trustee.

A long, tree lined driveway heads up the hill from Siganto Street to where the home is hidden surrounded by trees and is invisible from the street. The home has been built on the highest point of the land and has a north / south orientation with the rear and eastern side of the home providing ideal opportunities for outdoor living that have never been fully realised. The in-ground swimming pool has been ideally positioned for maximum sunlight with shade trees to the south and west providing afternoon filtered sunlight relaxing on the surround pavers.

The main entry door opens into a long slate floored foyer with interesting timber features breaking the view into the step-down lounge room. And what a grand lounge this is! Vast and impressive are the 2 words that swing to mind when you stand in the middle of it and look in both directions. At the northern end there is a full Miami Stone feature wall with raised plinth paved with slate and a recessed fireplace that holds a powerful slow combustion wood fire. The eastern wall is almost all glass and a high cathedral style solid timber ceiling rests on one mighty beam that runs the whole length of the room. A doorway opens from there to the large dining room while the 2 steps up to the foyer allows you to have direct access to the kitchen when entertaining in the lounge. Originally, the huge lined rumpus room was a big double garage, but it was long ago converted to a family rumpus for the multitude of grandchildren who were regular visitors here.

While not a great deal of modernisation has been done, the one item that was done in the 1990’s was the kitchen. The timber laminate cupboards with green toned laminate bench tops will not impress at first glance, but it is actually a wonderfully well designed and well built kitchen that was installed by a master craftsman. All it needs is new doors, new bench tops and some more modern appliances, although the dishwasher looks relatively new. It was built to the specifications of a lady who was used to living in the South Sea Islands where storage was a major priority due to the long intervals between new supplies arriving. This is a real family kitchen with space for family eating too.

The prime red soil land can only be described as superb and the location, within walking distance of the golf course, the primary school and the corner store is ideal. The gardens are tired, but a little bit of work there will soon enliven the many plants remaining, while there is tons of space to create any garden displays that appeal to your dreams. The gardens will flourish in all seasons because you have a good water bore with water reticulated around the house area. The open front paddock can be fenced off for ponies or a couple of cows. It could also be put to horticultural pursuits like growing fruits or flowers for commercial usage.

The property can be purchased on its own or with the adjoining eastern side block of 6574 square metre (well over one and a half acres) which can be viewed at: http://www.lanerealty.com.au/lr90273.html
