The Flame Tree is probably the most spectacular of the native rain forest trees. When the trees are in flower the trees stand out like candles of red throughout the rain forest.

Needless to say, the trees have also been planted in many of the gardens on the mountain and provide the magnificent bursts of colour in early summer at Christmas-time.
