This 203 hectares of rural land is zoned for cattle breeding and grazing. Indeed, it was grazing cattle on the upper side of the property up until about 2 decades ago, when the old fences finally collapsed and the cattle went wandering up hill and down dale. Since all grazing ceased, much of the cleared land has regenerated back to spindly open eucalypt forest. New fencing and some clearing of the re-growth would bring back the pastures and allow the next owner to continue to take financial advantage of the rural pursuits here.

But that is far from the main appeal of this huge acreage which has massive double street frontage to both the top part of Guanaba Road and Kaiser Road. Much of the land is covered in wilderness including a large area of original rainforest. Its long western boundary appears to criss-crosses Guanaba Creek deep down in the gorge (or the boundary could be the centre of the creek) and there are magnificent wild views to be had from many vantage points on the property, the sort of views that can not be seen from any other part of the Mountain.

A well made but a bit rutted 4-wheel drive track takes you from the old gravel pit on Kaiser Road right down to the creek where the beauty and serenity makes you feel that anything could suddenly emerge from the shadows to drink in the water holes. There are water falls and cascades here along with cool flowing pools that reflect the sky above and either side of the creek is bounded by pristine rainforest including tall palms and Hoop Pines. There is another 4-wheel drive track that leads to one of the waterfalls, but it currently needs a little attention from a bulldozer where some boulders are partly blocking it.

It could just be a private retreat, or it could combine all its features into an incredible “Farm Stay” (with Council approval which would seem reasonably possible), that allows guests to enjoy the grazing cattle before heading out on their organised photography trip to take in all the sights of the property. Maybe a BBQ by the creek or wildlife viewings by night with torches could all be part of the plan. Heavens only knows what wildlife does lurk there deep in the gorge. Birds by the thousand as well as wallabies, possums, quolls and very likely koalas too, all have perfect habit on this land.

Whatever you do with it, this land is a treasure that any innovative, tourism oriented person would want to preserve in its entire and varied natural grandeur while capitalising on its unique beauty, ultimate seclusion and close proximity to the Gold Coast.
