Thirty years ago you could choose which of many vacant blocks overlooking the magnificent Albert Valley and beyond to the Great Dividing Range would be the perfect spot for your new home. Today there is just one of those beautifully level, larger blocks with dramatic sunset views left vacant. This is it!
Over those 3 decades, I have walked over and sold almost every block in the area we locals tend to call “Sunset Ridge”, and I have always considered this block to be the best. The only reason it has stayed vacant is because it has had just 2 owners over that time. The first was an adjoining neighbour who finally sold it because the added maintenance was getting a bit too much with the passing years. He was delighted when it sold to a couple with very long term plans to build their retirement home here. Like so many other people today, their plans have also changed, and now one buyer will get to call it “Mine!”
Why did I call it the best block? That is easy to explain. It is flat, really flat, from the street frontage until just before where the back boundary drops over the western cliff edge. It has 26 metre wide front and rear boundaries so neighbours aren’t crammed up close. Houses already exist on the 3 blocks with adjoining boundaries, so you can pick the best position to maximise your views and be as isolated from those neighbours as possible. There are many superb native trees still standing here as well as a large open glade in the centre of the land.
Right now you have to go towards the rear boundary area to take in the views properly, but there is a lot of low shrubbery and re-growth on the land that needs to be removed to open up the views to their full extent again. You might want to have a tree expert remove a few of the lower hanging branches from some of the larger trees too. Once that is done, the magnificent vistas shown in the photos here will be yours to enjoy and build around for maximum viewing pleasure.
