72 (Lot 2) Guanaba Road, Mount Tamborine,
4272
Area: 3.165 hectares (almost 8 acres)
Local Authority: Scenic Rim Regional Council
You will never find another 8 acres quite like this on Tamborine Mountain. It occupies the pinnacle of the ridge position while the rear of the land slopes down to Kaiser Road. This land is part of an earlier dairy and cattle grazing farm and this block was chosen as the home site many decades ago. Hence, everything including the timber farm house was located here, and a garden was created around it. Now many of those trees are huge and many of those shrubs are still there and flowering. The small stand of bamboo right by the front gate provides an ideal privacy screen too.
Once you walk around you will see why the farmer chose this site for his home. The views in 3 directions are quite magical! Indeed the view to the north and north-west that looks down over the wilderness of Guanaba Gorge and across to the northern part of the Mountain is really quite awesome. But there is more to see. When you look to the north-east you look out to where the sun rises out of the ocean and looking more easterly, you see a delightful part of the Gold Coast and sea beyond. By night, you also get to enjoy a great area of sparkling lights in that direction.
There is so much history wrapped up in this old farm and the tattered and battered old farm house looks pretty tired, but we suspect that once you clear the vegetation away a bit and the owner removes all the accumulated junk from the inside, it may well be worth a full restoration. Shed lovers will be enchanted by the array of sheds here that start with the original dairy shed flanked by a cattle ramp and range right up to a big green colourbond shed. There are enough sheds here to excite the biggest hoarder!
And, YES! This land does have those indefinable features like the scents of the bush that give a truly country feel to the area. So, if you want acres with great views and interesting sheds plus an old cottage, lots of trees and lots of history, as well as a big open paddock for a few cows or ponies, then this is your chance to claim a unique spot not far from the Tamborine Mountain Golf Club.
