5 & 7 (Lots 10 & 11) Katoomba Crescent, Eagle Heights
Area: 1,012 square metres each
Hands up if you know where Katoomba Crescent is! I suspect that only people who regularly drive along the lower part of Long Road will be able to raise their hands. Although it is a very old street, it is so well hidden away that very few local residents would even be able to find it without a map and even fewer people would know that it is just a cul-de-sac with no though traffic that feels almost completely surrounded by rainforest. Even the street entrance is well hidden and you need to know where it is or you will find yourself past it before you know it. Yet, it is within walking distance of Gallery Walk.
Katoomba Crescent comprises mainly 1/4 acre blocks with some larger blocks and includes homes that are decades old as well as homes built in the last few years. Some homes are grand, others are neat weekender cottages. Some have impressive gardens while others seem to be surrounded by nature. Indeed, nature seems pre-eminent here in spite of the well mown nature strips and picket fencing. Many homes have stunning views right out to Morton Bay and every home gets the benefit of near perfect north-easterly aspect at front or rear.
Nature has been allowed to have its wilful way with these 2 blocks since they ceased to be farming land decades ago. The blocks have been in the same hands for over 17 years and were already overgrown when purchased. Since then, the trees, palms and undergrowth have combined to form an almost impenetrable jungle. The seller has had some clearing done to allow buyers to get beyond the front boundary as the photos indicate, but much more needs to be done prior to building.
The jungle is so thick that it is impossible to be sure if one or both of the blocks have views. All we can tell you is that the homes either side do have views. The home on the boundary to number 5 looks down to parts of the Gold Coast, while the home elevated high up on the block adjoining number 7 looks out north-east over a superb view to Morton Bay. The scope of the views may well depend on just how many grand trees you are willing to sacrifice.
Views or no views, these are 2 of the very last vacant blocks left in this street and they are both excellent blocks in what is a very desirable street. You can build here now or hold for assured future capital gain.
