We spent over an hour in these 3 enchanting cabins on a recent Friday afternoon and during the whole time we were there we heard not a single sound beside the song of the birds and the occasional “moo” from some grazing black cows that are fenced off from the cabins. This fifty acres of undulating cow pastures backing down to nature in an environmental reserve provides a sense of tranquility that is nowadays rarely found and all the more precious for its rarity.
“Seaview Farm Retreat” is built towards the rear boundary of this 100 year old family farm and far removed from the sights, sounds and smells of the world around. The 3 cabins have been designed for privacy and set within a small grove of trees and young gardens that are superbly lit at night. Each cabin is focused fully on the mind blowing 180 degree view of the Coast and Hinterland which spans from Coolangatta through to The Bay Islands. These views are particularly striking as this is actually the closest point of Tamborine Mountain to the Gold Coast. People who know the area may have seen the views from the nearby Golf Course and will be able to appreciate the immediacy of the panorama to be enjoyed from these cabins.
The simply planned but impressively finished cabins feature polished timber floors and interesting high timber cathedral ceilings plus a wall of glass that opens out to the views seen over the long rear verandah. All manner of little luxuries are included here from deep 2 person spa tubs with grand views and gas BBQs to slow combustion wood fires and iPod stations. Soft towels and dressing gowns await guests as well as an iron and ironing board located in the walk-in motel style robe. Hair dryers & hair straighteners are also located in the bathrooms.
Cabin 1 has been especially designed for wheelchair access and is fully compliant with all the standards for disabled persons. It has a spa bath but also a large disabled shower with all facilities as well as hand rails wherever needed. This cabin features 2 King size single beds which can be either joined together or separated according to your needs. Please let us know which way you would prefer.
The reception office is located in a replica split-log cabin that as been rebuilt on the site of the original cottage near the picturesque farm house. History buffs will adore the beautifully set-up “mini museum” that the owners have established here to preserve the farm’s history.
When you collect the keys you can order either a continental breakfast hamper or a full breakfast hamper to cook up on your BBQ. Dinner hampers can also be provided although a minimum 24 hours notice is required. Prices for these extras are quite reasonable. Late check-out by 2 p.m. is another little extra to savour here.
