FEATURES & LIFESTYLE

People looking for a different outlook on life will love to own this very well built, pole platform design home with its huge attic set high above the court and looking out over its big front garden and the entire local area full of trees and greenery. While the design is fairly simple, indeed almost classic chalet, there is much more space than you would expect here with a quite decent sized open plan living as well as a semi-separate dining. The modern kitchen is far from “cramped” and has lots of storage including a big pantry as well as a stainless steel dishwasher, good quality upright electric cooker, pull-out rangehood and an under bench space for the microwave. There is ample bench space here for enthusiastic cooks too. Polished timber floors are featured throughout the living, dining and kitchen areas. There is also a fully tiled laundry on this level.

Two bedrooms, both with built-in robes and nice quality darker toned carpet are also on the living level as well as the bathroom with screened shower over tub and a separate toilet. Timber stairs lead up to the huge carpeted attic area which includes ample space for an extra large bed Queen or King sized bed as well as plenty of space for a private sitting area. About the only 2 improvements this home needs are an ensuite bathroom and built-in robes on this level and there is also plenty of space for those under the angle of the towering ceiling.

The garden level is really a great example of imaginative use of vacant space! The original tandem lock-up garage on concrete has had an extension added on the side and now provides 2 very useful spaces. The first is a a good home office / rumpus room with both TV & internet connections and the second is a large storage area with the original garage door still in place to make it easy to move larger items in and out as required. A new, fully paved and very well protected tandem car area that could also double as a very cool summer party area or wet day play area, now stands beside the original garage. Timber slatting extends out beyond this area to provide a small courtyard space that could be turned into a great little fernery. There are 2 sets of external stairs, one up the front from where the carport starts and a shorter set from the back door heads down to a good sized sunny morning timber dais with a few more steps from it down to the car spaces.

Most of the garden is in the front yard. it is mainly lawns, trees and fruit trees plus a few neat shrubs. The lemon tree is currently so loaded with fruit that even the largest family would have no hope of consuming its produce. Let’s just call it, “All the lemons you could ever use plus heaps to give away to friends and family”. The full bitumen driveway cuts up through the middle of the block and comes to rest in a double wide bitumen apron at the side of the house. I suspect the owners actually had plans to install a double garage or carport here at some time. There is also an additional area near the front steps where guests can park as well.

For those in the know, Cayambe Court is a full red volcanic soil area and ideal for folk who want to grow lots of the things they eat. It is also a very handy little court with easy access to Tamborine-Oxenford Road that is also within about a 3 minute uphill drive (O.K. I wouldn’t want to walk it, but you might enjoy doing it!) from Gallery Walk and you can either go via the main road or take the more direct route up Long Road.

When you compare this property to others currently available in this price range, it offers a great lifestyle with lots of space, peace and quiet plus a home that is not by any means boring. It also offers very good value for your $$$, especially when you are getting a 1/2 acre red soil block as well as an exciting place to live for you and the family.
