OLD Eagle Heights is a special part of Tamborine Mountain, much loved for both its ambience as a leisurely country village and for its gorgeous tree lined streets and parks. The vegetation on this eastern extremity was originally rainforest growing luxuriantly in the wonderful red volcanic soil and well watered by high natural rainfall. When the settlers first arrived over 100 years ago, it did not take them too long to work out that this was the best area to set up home and so the original Eagle Heights was established on this high ridge with wonderful views and its own micro-climate where frosts do not occur. Many of the homes in these small streets where built early in the 20th century, others came a little later as access to the Mountain became easier. This low set brick and tile home was one of those homes built in the second half of the 20th century, probably between 30 and 40 years ago, around the time built-in wardrobes became the way to go.
It was a good, solid and well built home, much deserving of the major renovation that has been done to it by the current owners. The exterior has been rendered and the roof tiles indicated that they have been properly cleaned. Unlike many of the homes in these lovely old streets that are on smaller blocks, this home has a full ¼ acre garden and also a good water bore to keep the garden forever lush and green and also supply flushing water to the toilet. The old garden has been rejuvenated and now boasts both a vegetable patch and a good herb garden, but the dense trees and shrubs of decades past give the entire property that extra privacy you wait a long while to achieve in a newer home.
The home has good sized windows and some new skylights too for excellent natural light. It offers a stunning new kitchen with all stainless steel appliances including the dishwasher as well as stainless steel splashbacks and ample bench space. Two bedrooms have polished timber floors while one has the same Tuscan style tiling that has been used throughout the living areas and kitchen. The dining room is currently used as a computer room with extra space devoted to excess furniture, while the third bedroom is used as a home office and hobby room. The decor is light and modern with just a splash of colour for emphasis. Ample recessed ceiling lighting has been installed as well as new window treatments. A big new deck that gets sunshine in the morning and shade in the later part of the afternoon, now extends right across the back of the house for relaxed outdoor living. There is a new solar hot water system on the roof and a big new and stylish carport out the front, half hidden from the street by some big avocado trees, that is high enough to accommodate a caravan with an air conditioner on top of it.
A side driveway leads down to the back garden where there is a large steel shed with power connected set up to accommodate 2 cars and a workshop as well. There is a filtration system for the water tanks (one of those is new too) and the bore water can be pumped through the tanks and filtered if required in dry seasons. Indeed, this attractive home located within just a few minutes level walk of the shops, seems to have just about everything that makes for a comfortable and easy lifestyle. And the sellers are ready to move, so the pricing is very much in the buyer’s favour!
