When you own the 4th last house on the southern side of Manitzky Street, you can consider yourself extremely fortunate! This quiet little tree filled country lane comes to an end around 80 metres from your driveway in a railed-off open park area that has no facilities for tourists and is really only there for the pleasure and benefit of the street locals. Homes along the southern side of the street have 2 major advantages. The first is that they have excellent, sun drenched northerly aspect. The second advantage is that their entire rear boundary abuts the untouched natural wilderness that is Witches Chase National Park. Like most homes along here, this home offers easy access to the good walking trail that runs along this boundary of the National Park and you can simply step out through your back gate and go take your early morning walk in the ethereal misty beauty of the Park without seeing tourists, although you may well meet some of your neighbours doing the same thing.
The 4th last house is an elegant, spacious and incredibly practical residence that offers many comforts and luxuries to make living here one of the best things you will ever do. Right from the moment you step under the cover of the front porch, you can see that this home is a little above average. The screened front security door opens to usher you in to a feature tiled short hallway with a wide opening welcoming you into the formal living room with its lush green garden vistas. If you continue down the hall, you notice the ceiling goes onto a rake and you will then find yourself in the beautiful big family living which would be more than enough comfort and space for any average family and opens out directly onto the paved outdoor living terrace. You will also notice a 42 inch plasma TV screen fixed to the wall in this room. The sellers intend to leave it with the new owners.
Not every home gets rave reviews for its kitchen and bathrooms, but this home certainly deserves them. Without being either “striking” or “overbearing”, this kitchen has all the special qualities that every dedicated homemaker dreams of finding. The large wrap-around island bench that contains the 1.5 basin sink and dishwasher has a high return with attractive splashback tiling and gives real privacy to the kitchen. There is an excellent 5 hob gas cooktop recessed in with full tiling and a stainless steel exhaust system above it. Overhead cabinets either side of the exhaust has wide glass doors for displaying your pretty colourful items. There is a large corner pantry, a stainless steel wall oven with microwave niche above and an extra wide fridge space to accommodate one of those 2 door upright ice-maker fridge and freezer combinations. Step out from around one end of the island bench and you step right into the formal living, step out the other end and you are in the informal living. And, Yes! The bathrooms are as equally deserving of complimentary comment as the kitchen!
The grounds are simple and easy care with minimal terracing that adds to their appeal. The vegetable patches are prolific in the excellent soil here and the half hidden garden shed has extra strength shelving so nothing is likely to fall down. That paved outdoor living terrace is ready for you to park your gas BBQ and just plug it into the outdoor gas point. Maybe you won’t think much about it when you first visit this property, but when you live here, you will realise that that timber dais just inside the back fence is one special little spot that will bring you immense pleasure and relaxation. You can sit out here, right in the edge of the forest any time of day or night, but the most beautiful times are in the late afternoon when the birds are readying themselves for bed and the shy Albert Lyre Bird is calling deep in the forest. While listening to the birds you can watch the sun setting through the tree trunks way out over the range or take in the dramatic lightning of the summer thunderstorms building up over the ridges far away.
Then of course, there is the sheer convenience / cost saving of living right here in North Tamborine where any decently able person can walk to the facilities, shops and cafes up in Main Street or the less able take a motorised wheelchair hike. And really, isn’t it time that people who live in perfect little streets like this are allowed to register electric golf buggies to go do their shopping rather than take out the family car? When will we start to pressure the State Government to take another look at local area transport?
