Our seller is a wonderful gentleman who is a dedicated wild life carer, so don’t be surprised to find protective cages as well as some lovely chooks where the back garden should be and to also find all sorts of surprising creatures well contained in cages indoors when you come to inspect this bargain priced home. Like most single men, he is far more interested in looking after the special creatures in his care than attending to the presentation of his home, so don’t expect to see it all dolled up! Instead you will see a home that simply presents itself due to the design and quality building that shines through in an enticing private location looking down onto untouched wilderness at the rear.
The home is built on all steel stumps with a large concreted area underneath that is well enclosed and will accommodate 2 bigger or 3 smaller cars easily. There is also room underneath for 3 garden sheds and other bits and pieces. A pathway leads from the gravel driveway around to the main stairs which rise up to the verandah on the southern side of the home. There you are greeted by a striking front door that reflects the natural setting with its decorative glass inset panels.
Step through the door to a wide open living area with polished timber floors and lots of large windows including a set of ranch sliders that give a welcoming view of the bushland and open out to the rear deck from the dining area. The big bay window in the lounge area is covered by the front verandah. The morning sun shines through this big area of glass in winter when you want it, but the verandah roof prevents the sun streaming in in summer. A good Tasmanian Oak kitchen with big walk-in corner pantry is concealed from the lounge area by a dividing wall while another large window over the sink looks right out into nature.
The polished timber floor flows right down the hallway and into all 3 bedrooms until it meets the tiled laundry with its back door opening to the northern side steps. There are 2 double bedrooms here plus a good sized single bedroom and the main bedroom is positioned at the front of the home to catch the morning sunshine. Neutral tiling enhances the bathroom with its good sized cream tub and and anodised cream metal shower screen and the same toned tiling is continued in the separate toilet.
Right now, the back yard which has been terraced and turfed in the past, is not as beautiful as it should be thanks to the various creatures that have called it home. The current residents, some beautiful healthy chooks, work hard to ensure the land stays devoid of lawn. You might choose chooks over lawns and gardens, or have the pleasure of creating a new garden here.
The home is as good as new, but could benefit from a freshen up of the interior decor via a paint and some new drapes and maybe a re-polish of the floors. The grounds certainly do need some love, but that is about all it will take to make this home sparkle again. At this below market price, these minor improvements will instantly add value and make it worth much more than you paid for it.
