This
is just one of those rare & massively exciting buildings situated
in a high traffic locality that is just screaming out for conversion
to a fabulous restaurant or great big gallery! The massive 50 square,
all steel building includes 5 large bedrooms & 6 bathrooms plus a
full commercial kitchen and a vast open area on the upper level suitable
for a wide variety of income producing options.
The 9.82 hectares (about 24 acres) from the main road over undulating
country covered with timber down deep into the Cedar Creek area. The
land lends itself to further development with hidden, private guest cabins
and there is ample opportunity to open up some delightful and even challenging
walking trails through the bushland. The property currently has Council
approval for Home Business use and has been operated as a low level gallery
for some time.
There
is nowhere on Tamborine Mountain with more incredible 170 degree views
from sunrise over the Bay Islands to sunset over the Great Dividing Range
than from this very high position with northerly aspect to rear. The
views also fully encompass the sparkling grandeur of Brisbane by night.
One picture show here is an early morning photo with fog deep down in
the gorges and the sun rising out of a misty ocean while the other view
photo shows the angle from nearby Henderson's Knob out over to the Great
Divide. More view photos are shown in the Virtual Tour.
Everything is both simple and interesting here as the building is made
of mostly recycled materials and grounded on solid concrete. Because
of the structure it is easy to create and reorganise spaces to achieve
almost any outcome you could desire. The open upper area is incredibly
large with currently one outlet to a big balcony. It would be easy to
take a full length balcony to width of the building with a number of
outlets from the indoors.
There is a large, non-obtrusive tri-steel shed with power and water
connected at the rear of the building. It house a large laundry in addition
to the smaller in-house laundry, suggesting a B&B might have been
one of the ideas the owner had in mind here. There are also currently
8 parking spaces set up, but there is ample room to develop many more
parking spaces.
Due to the recent change from Beaudesert Shire Council to the new Scenic
Rim Regional Council, we are of the opinion that an application for a
more commercially oriented business here is unlikely to hit too many
problems. What we can say is that there are not too many restaurants
/ cafes on Mt. Tamborine with stunning views. Tourists are always looking
for somewhere to eat with views, so this would seem to be an ideal location.
Think about a marvellous Sunday Morning breakfast here!
